Stakeholders
The Council's goal is to inform watershed stakeholders (via newsletters, emails, and our website) about important developments that impact the Mill Creek Watershed and our communities.
We strive to maintain and enhance a supportive system of stakeholders and volunteers at all levels. Through public education and outreach campaigns the Council works to maximize community awareness and understanding of our mission, activities and funding.
The Council holds one-on-one meetings with representatives from Mill Creek Watershed communities to assess their needs with respect to the watershed (within our mission) and the Council's role in meeting those needs.
Development & Fundraising
The primary goal of the Mill Creek Watershed Council of Communities' Development and Fundraising is to maximize support (in the form of participation, goods and services, and financial resources) from watershed communities, organizations, businesses and citizens aligned with the Council's mission.
In working to meet this goal the Council conducts outreach and development that includes:
- Membership drive targeting new members and invitations to the existing membership.
The drive will include a mechanism for acknowledging new and returning
members. - Design and implement an outreach campaign to business and industry in the Mill
Creek Watershed to assess their needs concerning the watershed and the Council's
mission. - To assist in outreach to the business community and to continue our close relations
with local government, the Council will create a Development/Membership
committee charged with researching alternative dues structures capable of providing
sufficient funding for long-term stability of the council.
